Integration
Laylight + Google Calendar
Connect Google Calendar to Laylight and the context inside it becomes answerable, with a citation back to the Google Calendar record every answer came from.
What Laylight reads
Events on the calendars you connect: titles, times, attendees, descriptions and attachments.
Access is read-only and scoped to what you connect. Laylight does not write to, modify or delete anything in Google Calendar.
What it adds to your context
Chronology and attendance. When something was discussed, who was in the room and what it was scheduled to cover.
How it works
You authorise Calendar through Google OAuth and choose which calendars are indexed. Calendar is most useful as connective tissue rather than as a source in its own right: it explains why a document appeared on a particular day, who was present when a decision was made, and which recurring review a topic belongs to. Attendee lists resolve to the same people Laylight knows from Slack, mail and version control.
Because Laylight resolves entities across every connected system, a Google Calendar answer is not limited to Google Calendar. The same customer, project or person referred to here is understood to be the same one referred to in the other systems you connect, so an answer drawn from Google Calendar can be cross-checked against the document, ticket or thread elsewhere that describes the same thing.
What you will be able to ask
- When did this meeting happen, and who attended?
- What was this review scheduled to cover?
- What is coming up on this project?
- Who was in the room when this was decided?
Each answer names the Google Calendar record it came from, with its timestamp, so you can open the source and check it rather than taking the summary on trust.
How the connection is authorised
You connect Google Calendar through its own OAuth flow and choose the scope Laylight may index. Laylight never receives your Google Calendar password, stores its access token encrypted, and loses access the moment you revoke the connection. See Security for the full detail.
Availability
Laylight is pre-launch and connectors are rolling out to waitlist customers. Join the waitlist to get access to the Google Calendar integration, or see all integrations.
